What hair color services does Color And Andy offer?
Color And Andy offers a full range of hair color services including balayage NYC, dimensional highlights, gloss and toner treatments, grey blending, rich brunette color, and full color transformations. Color is formulated using Redken, Wella or Schwarzkopf depending on what your hair needs, with optional K18 bond repair treatment.
What is the difference between balayage and highlights?
Balayage is a hand-painting technique that creates a soft, natural, sun-kissed result with low-maintenance regrowth. Traditional highlights use foils to create more uniform, higher-contrast color from root to tip. Is Color And Andy a balayage specialist in NYC?
Yes. Balayage is one of my most requested services. Andrea specializes in hand-painted, dimensional color that enhances your natural texture and grows out beautifully — no harsh lines, no high-maintenance contrast.
Do you offer blonde specialist services in NYC?
Yes. Andrea is a blonde specialist in NYC with deep expertise in all shades of blonde — from warm honey and champagne to cool ash and bright platinum. Do you offer highlights in NYC?
Yes. I offer dimensional highlights, face-framing highlights, and full highlight services. I also offer hybrid approaches combining balayage with foil highlights for clients who want the best of both techniques.
Can you do a hair color transformation in one appointment?
It depends on your starting point and your goal. Going from very dark hair to platinum blonde, for example, typically requires multiple sessions to protect the integrity of your hair. During your consultation, Andrea will assess your hair and give you an honest timeline. Rushing a color transformation is never worth the damage.
Do you use Redken color?
Yes, and Redken is one of three professional systems Andrea works with. The choice depends on your hair: Redken for reliable grey coverage and a clean grow-out, Wella for tonal control in blondes, and Schwarzkopf for depth and richness in brunettes. K18 bond repair is available as an add-on for extra protection during lightening services.
Committing to a single brand would mean compromising on some heads of hair, and after 20 years behind the chair that is not a trade worth making. Redken professional color remains the most used of the three, with optional K18 molecular repair for clients who want maximum hair health during lightening services.
Keratin Treatments
Do you offer keratin treatments in NYC?
Yes. Keratin treatments are available at Color And Andy for clients looking to reduce frizz, add shine, and cut down styling time. How long does a keratin treatment last?
Most keratin treatments last between 3 and 5 months depending on your hair type and how often you wash. Using a sulfate-free shampoo after your treatment is essential to maintaining results as long as possible.
Can I get a keratin treatment and color at the same appointment?
I recommend getting your color done first, waiting at least two weeks, and then booking your keratin treatment. This ensures the color has time to settle and the keratin does not interfere with your results. Andrea will help you sequence your appointments correctly during your consultation.
Haircuts
Do you offer haircuts at Color And Andy?
Yes. Andrea offers personalized haircuts designed to complement your color and work with your natural texture. From precision cuts to lived-in layers, every cut is shaped to grow out gracefully and fit your lifestyle.
Do you offer blowouts or styling?
Blowout and styling services are available as add-ons to color and cut appointments. Contact me directly for availability and pricing.
Pricing and Policies
Where can I find your price list?
My full price list is available on the pricing page. Prices vary depending on hair length, thickness, and the complexity of the service. I am always transparent about pricing before any service begins — no surprises.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 48 hours before your appointment. Within 48 hours, appointments cannot be rescheduled, and cancellations are charged 100% of the booked service. No-shows are charged in full. I work with one client at a time, so a chair that empties at short notice usually stays empty. Booking confirms you accept this. If something serious happens, please get in touch. I would always rather hear from you.
What if I am not happy with my color?
Tell me within 10 days of your appointment and I will put it right at no charge. This covers the result not matching what we agreed in your consultation. A change of mind about the look, or color done elsewhere in the meantime, is a new appointment. Please just get in touch, I would always rather hear from you.
Do you offer a new client discount?
Yes. New clients can access a special offer on their first visit. Visit my new client page for details and to claim your discount before booking.
Do you accept walk-ins?
Color And Andy is appointment-based only. I do not accept walk-ins, as every appointment requires preparation time to ensure the best results for each client.
