I am a low-maintenance color specialist for busy professional women in NYC. I work one-on-one at 263 Bowery, Tuesday through Saturday.

I grew up in Germany. I came to New York because of an award, best newcomer fashion hairstylist at the German hairdressing awards, which turned into an offer to work with a team here. I never really left.

Before the salon there were editorial shoots, fashion weeks and high-profile events. The one I still talk about is a shoot with Paolo Roversi for Égoïste. I was a fan long before I was in the room.

Then I had my daughter and the hours stopped working. Shoot days do not bend around a family, and I wanted to be there. So I built something of my own instead. Color And Andy came out of that, a hair salon in Lower Manhattan that balances modern elegance with warmth and real connection.

Everything I do now comes back to natural, and that is not a marketing position, it is just what I find beautiful. Color that looks like it grew that way. Cuts that keep their shape while they grow out. If you want something very done, I am honestly not the right hands, and I would rather say so than have you find out halfway through an afternoon.

Sundays are the opposite of the old life. My daughter sleeps in, I go to SoulCycle with a friend, and the rest of the day belongs to my family. If we make it to the beach, even better.
